Last Saturday, I went to a restaurant in Maruei.  I didn’t know there were restaurants on the top floor.  I love Indian Curry and I always go to the restaurant near TV tower.  To tell you the truth, I don’t really like the Curry there because the curry is always thin.  Luckily, I found a curry shop on the 9th floor of Maruei so I went there.  The view was really good and it was very clean.  The curry and nan was also pretty good.  Since the restaurant is close to the school, it’s really convenient for me to go.  I’ll probably keep going there.

I love Hamburgers.  I’ve had a lot of hamburgers in my life and the best hamburger I’ve eaten was In and Out Hamburger.  In and Out is a famous hamburger store from the United States.  Unfortunately, there’s no In and Out in Japan.  However, I found a hamburger store in Japan that’s just as good as In and Out.  It’s called Handsome Burger.

Yesterday, I was having a conversation with one of my students and I found out he also loooooooves Handsome Burger.  It was fun to talk about something we love.  When you share an interest or feeling, we say “We have something in common.”  In this case, my student and I have love of hamburgers in common.  I feel like going to Handsome Burger!

I think reading is important for learning a language.  When you are reading and English book, you are spending that whole time thinking in English.  It’s also good to read out loud.  I’ve recommended a book to some students and they have started reading it.  They are also presenting some of the stories in class.  If you have time to read and study it, I recommend you get it.  It’s NHK Enjoy Simple English.  It has a recording that you can listen on the radio.  (You can download NHK Radio and listen to it on your smart phone.)   Another good thing is that it’s affordable.  It’s only 540 yen.  It comes out every month but you don’t need to buy it every month.  There are a lot of stories in just one book.  If you get it, make sure you present the stories in class along with your journal. I look forward to hearing them.

I feel I’m lucky because students always give me good information.  Whenever I have a question about anything, I ask students and I can usually find out.  They often give me very good information.  I always get good information about restaurants, books, movies, health and much more.

One student just told me about acupuncture.  Last week, I went to an acupuncture and I fainted when the acupuncturist put a needle in my neck.  I was worried something is wrong with me.   My student who is also a professional acupuncturist told me not to worry about it because it’s a common thing.  I was relieved to hear that.
