Monday, October 23 “Typhoon and stomachache”
I had a stomachache for 2 days. I thought about the reason why. Last Saturday, I ate breakfast and the egg was a bit raw. Also, I hardly eat breakfast. I usually only eat two meals a day, lunch and early dinner. I think my stomach was surprised when I ate breakfast.
I also realized that when there’s something wrong with my body, I get really sleepy. Therefore, on Sunday, I went to bed around 9:00 am. Sunday was when the typhoon came. When I woke up next morning, the typhoon was gone and the weather was beautiful. Also, my stomach was feeling better.
Sometimes, you just need to let your body rest and everything will turn out ok.

Wednesday, October 25th ”Am I a minimalist?”
Right now, I’m trying to simplify my life so I can focus on work. This month, I got rid of a lot of things. I feel life is short and sometimes when you have too many things both physically and emotionally you lose focus.
I feel I’m becoming a minimalist. ( ミニマリストとは?) I really like this idea. In Japan, every turn of the season, we have to change our wardrobe (衣替え). I used to do this but it just seems like a waste of time for me. Therefore, I decided to simplify my life by keeping all of my clothes in one place. When my clothes get old, I’ll just throw it away and buy new ones.
Sometimes I feel like I’m becoming like a monk. Maybe, I’ll soon look like クリリン。

Thursday, October 26th “Handing out flyers”
This morning I started handing out flyers of my night course. I was standing in front of the station exit at 7:00 am. Actually, I kind of enjoy handing out flyers. I say “おはようございます!!!! Eikaiwa school です。” I say it pretty loudly so they hear me. I have eye contact with some people and when I hand the flyer, they don’t take it. I think, “Why did you make eye contact with me??!!” Some people don’t look at me but suddenly they stick out their hand to get the flyer. I think, “why didn’t you make eye contact!!??” It’s a real challenge to hand out flyers. I have fun, though.
This time I hired a young college girl to help me hand out the flyer. She’s really cute and she doesn’t have to say anything but people take the flyer. I’m almost yelling at the top of my voice but many people don’t even look at me. I really feel that the world is tough toward Ojisan but nice to young cute girls. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll try wearing a skirt and see if people will be more kind toward me. 🙂

Many of my students know that I’m hooked on Netflix. Netflix is a site where you can see movies and dramas. Many of my students are also hooked on Netflix too!
From time to time, I introduce movies or dramas that I see on Netflix. Right now, I’m into watching a drama called “Strangers Things.”
In the drama, there are kids who get into serious trouble. They have to solve a mystery on their own. Once you start watching it, you won’t be able to stop watching it. So make sure you don’t have anything important to do when you start watching it.
The kids are really cute and it reminds me of my own childhood. I used to ride my bicycles with my friends just like the kids in the drama. It brings back good memories.
I definitely recommend that you get Netflix and check it out.
