Monday, November 19 “Busy Week”
This week is going to be a busy week. I’ll be going to Koranke this Friday, which is a national holiday (labor day). I’ve never been there so it’ll be my first time. My students have told me it’ll be really crowded but I found out about a road that not a lot of people take. I hope I don’t get lost.
Other than that, I’ll be going to see the movie Bohemian Rhaspsody. Bohemian Rhapsody is a movie about the life of Freddie Mercury, the lead vocalist of the band Queen. I’m sure you know thier songs. It’s legendary!! One of my students have already seen it and she said it was awesome! She even went to see it twice. I can’t wait to see it.
I also have to finish a lot of texts this week. I always want to stay ahead so I don’t run out of texts. I usually never use the same text twice because I feel I could do a better job. It’s a never ending process. I like doing it though.
Wednesday, November 21st “Poinsettia”
Yesterday, one of our students gave us Poinsettia. It’s the biggest Poinsettia I’ve ever seen! It’s gorgeous. Actually, she gives us one every year. I’m really thankful for her generosity.
Last Thursday, I got an acupuncture service from my student Taiki. Actually, he has started his own business as an acupuncturist. I want to support him because I know how hard it can be. I think he has real talent as a therapist. Most importantly, he has passion for helping people. I admire people like that. I got treated for about 40 minutes. He put couple of needles in my head. It actually felt good. To tell you the truth, I have a bad experience before getting acupuncture. Last time, I went to a different acupuncturist and I fainted! I’m not sure why I fainted. I told Taiki about my past experience and he also knows my health condition is not that good so he picked the best pressure points. It’s nice to be treated my someone who knows your situation well. I’ll ask him every time to treat me.

Thursday, November 22nd “Extreme Minimalist”
Since 2 years ago, I’ve tried live a minimalist life. It has helped me to live a simple life. End of the year is approaching and for most people it’s time for end of the year cleaning. For me there’s not much to clean. That’s the upside of living with very few things. It’s super easy to clean!!
I have a problem though. I have a small office at school which is super dirty. It’s like a little rabbit hole and it’s full of stuff. I feel really uncomfortable being inside the room and I feel the need to clean eveything out. Actually, I want to take a hose and hose down everything with water.
I’m sure you are all very busy too with the New Year’s approaching. It’s also a best time of year to spend with your family and friends. Let’s all enjoy it.
By the way, I found this site that reported about Japan’s trend of living a minimalist life. It’s insane!! I can never be that extreme. It’s almost like you are living inside a prision. Check it out.
