Monday, July 1st. “My goal”
I’m a health nut even though I’m not so healthy.
Let me introduce you to someone that stayed super healthy. His name is Shigeaki Hinohara. He’s truly amazing. He lived until 105. Even when he became 100 years old, he worked 18 hours 7 days a week. That’s what I want to do when I’m 100 years old!! 😘 I hope I can keep working until I die. I don’t think I’ll be teaching but I’ll find something I can be passionate about. 🤔
That’s why I’m putting in the effort to stay healthy. I hope I can still make a contribution when I’m 100 years old!

Check out Dr. Hinohara, his English is amazing!!
Wednesday, July 3rd. “Journal number 100”
Ever since 3 years ago, I’ve been making journal writing mandatory for all of my classes. I started writing a journal just as I told my students to write journals. I write 3 journals a week and just like you, I struggle to find things to write about. Somehow I managed to write about 300 journals. (I write 3 journals on each page)
It’s actually fun to look back the past journals. It reminds me of things I did and things I was into. The theme I often talk about is my health condition and restaurants I went to. We all have things we are interested in, and that’s what we should write and talk about.
Your interest can be traveling, fashion, drinking, celebrity news, work, or sports. It can be any theme. It’s totally ok to talk about the same theme over and over. Learning English is not just about remembering new phrases. It’s also about expressing your ideas and feelings. In other words, you have to communicate something to get better at using English.
A really kind student made a cake for me to celebrate my 100th Journal. I really appreciate her effort and time in making me such a beautiful cake. I’m eating it now. It’s delicious!! 😋
