Sunday, September 22nd.   “Japanese people living in Hawaii”

Our tour guide is Tak Wada.  He has been a guide for a long time in Hawaii.  He’s a really interesting guy.  His knowledge of the Hawaiian Island, culture, and history is excellent.  We’re all learning so much from him.  He mostly speaks to us in Japanese but his English speaking skill is really good as well.  

I also met a nice lady named Keiko at a Kona Coffee farm.  She did the tour both in Japanese and English.  It was easy to understand and really informative.  Both Tak and Keiko have something in common.  They don’t use any difficult words at all to communicate.   But still, they can communicate really well.  I’m glad students had a chance to see and hear that.  

I think they are perfect role models for our students.
