Monday, February 24th.  “It nearly killed”

Recently I got some chocolates from my students.  One of them is chocolate that goes well with toast.  She recommended I toast the bread, and I put the chocolate on top and toast it again.  She told me I would be in pure pleasure.  Anyway, I had been meaning to try it.  Just the other day, another student of mine just gave me some bread that’s supposed to be great when it’s toasted.  Now I had two things that are supposed to give me pure pleasure. 

I thought two things that would give me pure double pleasure are dangerous.  But I said, what the hell and I decided to eat it at 11:00 pm after I got home.  It nearly killed me.

日記の訳

最近生徒さんから何個かのチョコレートをもらいました。その中の１つはトーストと相性が合うものです。まずパンをトーストして、そしてチョコを乗せてまたトーストすることを彼女から勧められました。彼女いわく至福の時感じるでしょうと言っていました。それで、試そうと思っていました。先日、別の生徒からトーストするとすごく美味しいトーストをいただきました。至福を与えてくれる２つのものが揃ってしまいました。

２つも至福を与えるものは危ないと思いました。しかし、まあいいやと思い、夜の11時に食べることを決めました。あまり美味しくてやられました。
