There’s something I’m starting to really get into. That’s cooking.  

Actually, my interest started with cooking pasta.  

I even bought an aluminum frying pan and a big pot to cook pasta. 

I can make a killer Peperoncino.

Since the stay home period, I had a chance to get into other cooking. 

I made a bunch of things like Hoikoro, Chinjaros, Banbanji, Mabodoufu.  

My thing is to cook a lot of one type of food. In this case, I went to all Chinese.  🇨🇳

I haven’t perfected my Chinese cooking so I’m still a bit unsatisfied with my work.

I know I can do better.  I want to show you my progress as it comes. 

I’m starting to feel I want to buy a big Chinese frying pan. 

Here’s my Chinese food collection.

There’s something about cooking that I like.  

In a way, it’s a way for me to unwind. 

Plus, in the end, you can enjoy the food that you’ve made. 

Also, we can enjoy it with our loved ones. 

It’s a form of love.  ❤️❤️

There’s something…

There’s something…で始まるフレーズは結構あります。そしてとても英会話に役立ちます。

自分を言いたいことを少し「もったいぶる」言い方をしたいときに用います。

例えば、料理にハマっていると言いたい時にそのまま、「今料理にハマっています」と言うのではなく

「今、ハマっているものがあるんだよね～」と言います。

そうすると相手に「へ～ 何なの？」と興味を持ってもらえます。

他の例文

There’s something I want you to do.

あんたにしてもらいたい事があるの。

There’s something I want to give you.

貴方に渡したいものがあるの。

There’s something wrong with this.

これなんかおかしいよ。

聞いた事があるんだけど。

There’s something about….はハッキリと言葉で表せない時に用います。

昔映画でThere’s something about Mary. (日本のタイトルは、メリーに首ったけ) という映画がありました。

これは「メリーは何かいいんだよね〜」という意味です。

今日は私は、There’s something about cooking that I like と使いました。

「料理は何かいいんだよね〜」という意味です。

　日記の訳

すごくハマり始めているものがあります。それは料理です。

私の興味は最初パスタから始まりました。

パスタを料理するアルミのパンとパスタ鍋さえも買いました。

やばいペペロンチーノができます。

私のパスタコレクションをご覧になって下さい。

自粛期間以来、他の料理を作る機会がありました。

沢山のものを作りました。例えば、ホイコウロウ、チンジャオロース、バンバンジー、麻婆飯。

私の好みは１つの種類のものを作る事です。ここでは全部中華に行きました。

中華系は私はまだ完璧ではありません。だから、自分的にはまだ不満です。

もっとうまくできるはずです。上達するにつれ、私の進歩をお見せしたいと思います。

中華鍋が欲しくなっています。

なんか料理っていいんですよね～

ある意味私にとっての癒しです。

最後には作ったものを楽しめます。

あと、大切な人と楽しめます。
